Market Analysis Report
Advances in understanding of the immune system are changing the way oncologists treat cancer. In recent years, researchers have increasingly looked to harnessing the patient's immune system in the management of difficult to treat cancers. While such an approach was once felt to be unattainable, a better understanding of how the adaptive immune system works has allowed the field of immuno-oncology to move to the clinic with increasing success. This study's objective was to assess practicing oncologists' familiarity with, and understanding of, immuno-oncology concepts that will play an important role in the care of patients with metastatic cancer such as those with lung cancer. A total of 469 of oncologist have participated in the surveys. Overall, oncologists reported a lack of familiarity and need for additional education in the areas of immunology as well as implications for immuno-oncology agents. Less than 15% of oncologists reported being very familiar with the immune system while 72% of learners indicated a need for additional education on adaptive immune responses. In addition, only 7% and11% of oncologists reported being very familiar with the concepts of immune escape and check points, respectively. Over 60% of oncologists reported little familiarity with emerging immunotherapies for the treatment of metastatic solid tumors, and a majority did not have a firm understanding of how to assess a patient's response According to the Asian healthcare industry is witnessing a paradigm shift, skewed towards point-of-care diagnostics, cost-effective personalized medicine, and treatment modalities, which not only offers efficient early diagnosis, but also treats cancer conditions in order to moderate the healthcare cost and disease liability. Cancer/Tumor profiling is one such technology with the exact potential to transform cancer/tumor diagnostics and therapeutics in the healthcare industry.
About 12.7 million cancer cases and 7.6 million cancer deaths are estimated to have occurred in 2008 worldwide, with 56% of the cases and 64% of the deaths in the economically developing world. Breast cancer, the most common tumor in women, presents a high survival percentage: 83% of patients have survived this type of cancer after five years. Lung cancer is one of the most aggressive tumors and survival after five years is very low: only 10% of patients diagnosed with a malignant neoplasm survive for more than five years. Colorectal cancer (of the colon and rectum), the most common malignant tumor if we group men and women together, presents an average survival rate of 50-55% five years after diagnosis, meaning that half the patients survive this form of cancer. Prostate cancer, today the most common tumor in men, has an increasingly favorable prognosis, with a global survival rate of 76%, which is higher in young adults. Ovarian cancer presents a very varied prognosis depending on age: whilst 70% of the group between 15 and 44 years survives this form of cancer, this is the case for only 19% of those over 74 years-old.
This market research report evaluates the Asian market of cancer/tumor profiling by geography, applications, technologies, and section types. Additionally, the requirements market is divided into five segments, namely Personalized Medicine, Biomarker Discovery, Diagnostics, Prognosis and Research Submissions; the technologies section is divided into five segments, namely Next-Generation Sequencing, Quantitative PCR, FISH/CISH, Immunohistochemistry, and Microarray; and finally, the segment types is partitioned into four parts, namely Genomics, Metabolomics, Proteomics, and Epigenetics. Of the above-mentioned application fragments, modified medicine is the largest revenue segment and NGS is the potential revenue yielding technology.
The cancer/tumor describing market was valued at $13.30 billion in 2012. At the end of 2013, the market is estimated to be $14.99 billion and is poised to reach around $35 billion by 2018, growing at a CAGR of 18.50% from 2013 to 2018.
The global market for cancer/tumor reporting is expected to grow, backed by technological advancements, investments, and huge funds. The market is endorsing a trend towards the development of personalized medicine and point-of-care diagnostic tests for cancer. Additionally, the demand for safe and cost-effective drugs for the treatment of cancer (which can be fulfilled by cancer/tumor profiling therapeutics), will fuel the market growth. However, the market will also experience improvements in biomarker discovery and prognosis areas during the forecast period.
Asia-Pacific is the largest hub for cancer/tumor profiling market, accounting for the largest share, followed by China and Australia. Asia-Pacific and Europe are expected to grow at a steady pace. However, the North America market and few countries from the ROW region are expected to witness a boost in demand and are poised to register maximum growth over the next five years, owing to high incidence of cancers, affected population, and the increased purchasing power of patients.

Track 1: General Issues in Oncology Nursing
Oncology nurses practice in a variety of environments which include acute care hospitals, private oncologists' offices, ambulatory care clinics, radiation therapy facilities, home healthcare agencies, and community agencies. However most of the adults treated for cancer in the USA live free of disease for many years, several survivors experience long lasting side effects and complications of treatment. While others encounter recurrence or new cancers that require further treatment. Most of the Medical experts can’t always predict if or when they might occur. Some effects might enhance or go away with time such as anemia.

Track 2: Clinical Oncology Nursing
Organ/Tumor Specific Cancers are the cancers named based on the location of cancer in the body organs. Cancer may affect about every organ in the human body. Each type of cancer is different with its own causes, symptoms and the methods of treatment. Lung cancer was considered to be the most common cancer worldwide in men causing nearly 17% of the total number of new cases which were diagnosed in the year 2012 and became a crucial topic for World Cancer Conferences. Lung cancer which is also known as carcinoma of the lung or pulmonary carcinoma is a malignant lung tumor which is distinguished by uncontrolled cell growth in the tissues of the lung.

Track 3: Cancer Pain Management
The majority of people with cancer will experience pain at some time or another. The pain can result from the cancer itself, or from the cancer's treatment. In addition, some people who have been cured of their cancer can continue to suffer from pain. Cancer pain, or the discomfort that stems from cancer and its treatment, can be controlled most of the time, in which a nurse plays a important role. There are many different medicines and methods available to control cancer pain. People who have cancer and are feeling pain need to inform their doctor immediately. The earlier pain treatment is started, the more effective it may be.

Track 5: Cancer Prognosis
Prognosis is the outlook or the chance of recovery from cancer. New and better treatments are helping people diagnosed with breast cancer live longer than ever before. Cancer survival rates or survival statistics tell you the percentage of people who survive a certain type of cancer for a specific amount of time. Cancer statistics often use an overall five-year survival rate. Oncology Cancer survival rates are supported on research from information gathered on hundreds or thousands of individuals with a particular cancer. An overall survival rate includes individuals of all ages and health conditions who have been diagnosed together with your cancer, together with those diagnosed terribly early and people diagnosed terribly late.

Track 6: Oncology Nursing Practice
Oncology has become one of the most important focus areas for pharmaceutical and biotech companies because of the high gear unmet need for improved handling for various types of Cancers. For an oncologist or an oncology nurse, to find the appropriate words to console a person who is suffering the loss of a loved one can be troublesome. This section in several oncology nursing conferences & oncology nursing meetings addresses how different groups of oncologists, patients, and Nurses think about the end-of-life care issues. This section discusses an oncologist's responsibility and perspective when it comes to subjects such as advanced cancer, hospice , do not resuscitate orders, cytotoxic therapy, maintaining a patient's dignity, supportive care and imminent decease.

Track 7: Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM)
Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM )is the term for medical products and practices that are not part of standard medical categories. Some CAM therapies have undergone careful evaluation and have found to be safe and effective. However there are others that have been found to be ineffective or possibly harmful. CAM therapies need to be evaluated with the same long and careful research process used to evaluate standard treatments. Standard cancer treatments have generally been studied for safety and effectiveness through an intense scientific process that includes clinical trials with large numbers of patients.

Track 8: Supportive Care Services & Lifestyle Connection
A cancer diagnosis and its treatment can be overwhelming. Usually patients and family members have many questions and concerns about the disease and the treatment. The supportive care program helps patients and family members deal with the physical and emotional distress caused by the cancer diagnosis and treatment. The less distress patients have, the more energy they can direct toward recovery. Comprehensive supportive care services require the expertise of an interdisciplinary team in order to adequately assess and treat the complex needs of cancer patients and their families.

Track 9: Cancer Therapy and Treatment
The landscape of Cancer treatment has dramatically changed over the last four decades. The age when surgery and radiotherapy were the only effective way to fight tumor growth has ended. A complex scenario where the molecular features of tumors seem to be the cornerstone of any therapy is now emerging. Here we provide an overview on the different approaches to cancer treatment. This review will help the reader to acknowledge the pivotal role of some classic cancer therapies, including surgery, radiation, chemotherapy and endocrine therapy, now better understood in the mechanisms underpinning their efficacy. We briefly elaborate, finally, on new biomarkers development and how it should rule and determine the future of therapeutic research in cancer.

Track 10:Anti-Cancer Vaccines/drugs
Anti-cancer monoclonal antibodies can be targeted against malignant cells by several mechanisms. Tissue-specific gene delivery using immune liposomes has also been achieved in brain, and breast cancer tissue. Antibody-directed enzyme pro drug therapy involves the application of cancer associated monoclonal antibodies which are linked to a drug-activating enzyme. A cancer vaccine is a vaccine that either treats existing cancer or prevents development of a cancer. Vaccines that treat existing cancer are known as therapeutic cancer vaccines. There are currently no vaccines able to prevent all cancers. However vaccines against some oncoviruses have proven extremely effective. Treatment often fails when cancer becomes resistant to anti-cancer drugs.

Track 12: Cancer-Basic and Applied Research
Cancer Cell Biology, Diagnosis and Applied Research are using cell biological and other methods to investigate the mechanisms that regulate cell proliferation and differentiation. There is considerable interaction between individual laboratories in those areas. Cancer stem cells (CSCs) are cancer cells that possess characteristics associated with normal stem cells, the ability to give rise to all cell types found in a particular cancer sample. The process by which cancer cells spread to other parts of the body is also called metastasis. The metastasis of blood and lymphatic system cancers to the lung, central nervous system, heart and other tissues has been reported. Cancer is a multistep process involving several cell signaling pathways.
